Our Story
EPSI was founded in 1995 in a small basement office in Gatineau, following an opportunity to deliver a psychometric assessment project. Dr. André Durivage, a psychologist and entrepreneur, and Julie Thibault, who holds a master’s degree in industrial relations and is also an entrepreneur, quickly recognized the growing demand for psychometric assessment services. By the early 2000s, EPSI had grown into a thriving small and medium-sized business with a team of approximately 20 employees.
Recognized for its expertise in developing scientifically validated psychometric assessments for talent selection across a wide range of occupations, EPSI reached a major milestone in 2004 by transitioning from paper-based testing to its own online assessment platform. This strategic advancement significantly improved the efficiency and speed of test administration and scoring, while enabling EPSI to expand and diversify its client base across Canada and internationally.
Several years later, EPSI expanded its expertise in talent engagement by introducing employee engagement surveys through its new online survey platform. With 25 years of history, a broad portfolio of HR training programs, high-quality consulting services, and more than 50 psychometric assessments, EPSI is widely recognized for its expertise in talent management, one of the most critical drivers of organizational success.

EPSI is pleased to partner with SHL to provide clients with advanced solutions, including virtual assessment centres, live coding interviews, 360° assessments and realistic job previews. SHL brings powerful, transparent artificial intelligence, data science and objectivity to help companies attract, develop and grow the workforce they need to succeed in the digital age. A leader in assessments and psychometric solutions, SHL has acquired all IBM Kenexa assessments. These tests will now be hosted on the EPSI testing platform.
